Geography

Lithuania is located in North Eastern Europe. It is on the Baltic Sea between Russia and Latvia. Its coordinates are 56 00 N and 24 00 E. Lithuania covers a total area of 65 300 sqkm 62 680 sqkm is land and 2 620 sqkm is water. Its bordering countries are Poland Latvia Russia and Belarus. Lithuania's climate is quite wet and it is a temperate climate meaning it is not very cold or not very hot. The lowest point is the Baltic Sea its altitude is 0m and the highest point is Jouzapines Kalnas and its altitude is 294m.

Lithuania has a typical European wintry climate. Compare the two Australia and Lithuania and the temperatures are very different. In Europe a temperate climate would seem very cold to us and to Europeans ours would seem very hot. A difference between the two is also that Lithuania is a land of forest and plains. But Australia has a divers range of climates and geographical areas. Australians would find it unbearably cold to live in Lithuania but would Lithuanians like to lap up the sunshine in Australia?
